Cable Kilpatrick is a multi-generational family business with a history in Sacramento going back seven generations. We are part of the community where we do business.
In the frenzy leading up to the real estate crash in 2008, prudence was not valued in business. In light of the last few years, it is a virtue now appreciated by our clients. Like the ant in the fable of the ant and the grasshopper our decisions take into consideration the long-term, not just the immediate. We think of it as financial stewardship.
We were building energy efficient buildings long before it was trendy because it made sense for our clients and for our community. Energy costs have been rising and water availability have been concerns for decades. That’s why our buildings feature improvements to reduce energy consumption such as skylights in our warehouses, shade trees at the offices, insulative roofing material, low energy glazing, canopies and recently LED lighting. From how the project is laid out on the site to what fixtures are used in restrooms, we focus on efficiency. It’s not just good stewardship, its common sense. We are happy it’s catching on.
We aren’t just in the community, we are part of it. That is why we support those in our community who need assistance most. While corporately we contribute to local charities, we are at our best when we, as individuals, the Cable Kilpatrick family work together to bless others.
Below are a few organizations that are dear to our heart and that we have had the honor and privilege of playing a small part in their local efforts to better others’ lives:
It came to our attention in the Spring of 2012 that one of our long-time clients had been working on an incredible and necessary suicide prevention program in the town of Lincoln, CA. Sadly, in the summer of 2011, within a 3-month period, the town of Lincoln lost three beautiful young men to suicide. The Mud-Run 2012 is an event to gather the community, to celebrate life, to address this subject, and help to raise funds to be used in the town of Lincoln for a suicide prevention program through the Lincoln Rotary Club. To learn more about their amazing efforts, the 5K Mud Run event, or to donate to the cause, please visit their website at www.mud-run-4-life.org.
SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF LINCOLN
Soroptimist International of Lincoln is a non-profit volunteer service organization for business and professional women working to improve the lives of women and girls within the community of Lincoln, CA and throughout the world. We had the privilege of participating as a sponsor of their “Best For Women Bowl-A-Thon” event held in May 2012 at Strikes Unlimited Bowling Center in Rocklin. MUSTARD SEED SCHOOL
Recently our staff pooled individual resources to collect toys, clothing and gifts during the Christmas season for the children of the homeless. These donations helped to provide a magical day for children who otherwise may not have experienced gifts at Christmas. We’d like to thank Mustard Seed School for the significant work they do for our community. Learn more about Mustard Seed School.
